Jeuveau

Meet Jeuveau™ – aka the #NEWTOX!

Jeuveau wrinkle reductionJeuveau the first product of its kind – an injectable treatment that temporarily improves glabellar lines (aka frown lines).

On February 1, 2019 the FDA approved the latest cutting-edge injectable containing Botulinum Toxin A— Jeuveau™ by Evolus.

Dr. Alexander Gross, at Georgia Dermatology Center in Cumming, GA, is excited to have this new neurotoxin (or # newtox) to offer his patients. Jeuveau™ is a brand new cosmetic “freezer” (a modern alternative to products like Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin), specifically designed for temporary improvement in moderate to severe glabellar lines(also known as frown lines or “11s”) but also effective in treating crow’s feet (outer eye wrinkles) and forehead lines.

Jeuveau VS Botox®: How is Jeuveau Different from Botox?

Jeuveau wrinkle reducerBotox has been in the market since the 90’s and at SK Plastic Surgery, we have been successfully treating patients with Botox for many years. Jeuveau is the first new Botox alternative in a decade. As the fourth neurotoxin to hit the market, Jeuveau is made using a state-of-the-art manufacturing process called Hi-Pure™ technology. Jeuveau is the first product from Evolus, and part of its mission to bring a fresh experience and perspective to the aesthetics industry.

There is a lot of excitement about Jeuveau™ as it’s the first neurotoxin to hit the U.S. market in almost a decade. Furthermore, Jeuveau™ has also been studied in the largest head-to-head clinical trial versus Botox™ Cosmetic.

How Does Jeuveau Work?

As in Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, Evolus Jeuveau is a neuromuscular blocking agent or injectable relaxer / “freezer” that binds to receptors that send nerve signals for muscles to contract. In short, Jeuveau prevents your nerves from telling your facial muscles to flex or contract. In turn, the muscles relax, and the wrinkles that normally form from movement are prevented; when relaxed, these movement lines are much less noticeable both immediately and over time. Neuromodulators are used in various parts of the face, including the:

  • Forehead
  • Glabellar lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Nose wrinkles or creases (“bunny lines”)
  • Lip lines / fine lines around the mouth
  • Jawline
  • Neck bands / lines (“tech neck”)
  • Vertical neck lines / platysmal bands
