Liposuction can be a great alternative for men and women who struggle with stubborn, undesirable areas of fat that do not respond to diet and exercise. Liposuction can remove unwanted fat that exercise can’t reach.
Dr. Alexander Gross uses a proven liposuction method known as tumescent liposuction to remove excess body fat from the upper and lower abdomen, back, hips (saddlebags), flanks (muffin top), inner and outer thighs, and neck and arms. The chosen treatment areas will be infused with tumescent anesthesia, a sterile solution that actually provides pain relief while also reducing bleeding and bruising, and making fat easier to remove.
A very small incision is made (located in areas where they will be as inconspicuous as possible) and a cannula is inserted to suction out the unwanted fat.
After the procedure, a compression garment is worn to help the skin contract and heal. It will also help to contour and smooth the skin. Patients are usually up and around in a day or two but strenuous activities are restricted for 1 to 2 weeks.
The body contouring results from liposuction can be dramatic. Legs and hips become thinner and shapelier. Noticeably, stomachs reduce in size, become flatter and firmer. Liposuction is not a substitute for exercise or weight loss. The best candidates are at or near their ideal body weight.

The Cool Laser Liposuction procedure is mostly used to reduce fat in the face and neck areas. CoolLipo a minimally invasive outpatient procedure that liquefies excess fat for easy removal is used in conjunction with tumescent liposuction. CoolLipo’s unique technology even goes beyond standard liposuction to reform collagen and tighten skin from the inside out making it an excellent procedure to use on facial areas.
During the procedure, an anesthetic solution is injected into the treatment area, causing the tissue to swell and become firm. This firming process allows for more control and better contouring. Next, a small tube containing a laser fiber is inserted into the fatty area. As the laser energy makes contact under the skin, it breaks apart and liquefies the fat. The excess fat is then easily removed by a vacuum.
Cool Laser Liposuction is ideal for small fatty areas, especially for the facial, neck, and chin area. Results should be seen within a week after treatment, and skin will continue to improve for 2-6 months post procedure.
The Vanquish treatment works by using Radio-frequency (RF) energy. RF penetrates the body and is absorbed by fat cells in the abdomen. The focused heat liquidizes the fat and ruptures the cells in the targeted area, effectively destroying the fat cells without damaging muscle or skin. Best results are seen with 4-6 treatments.
