Thicker isn’t always better. Just because a lotion is thicker and more concentrated, that doesn’t guarantee dewy, glowing skin. In fact, creams with too many lipids can actually trap dead cells and leave skin looking duller. If you want to up the moisture on those dry days, try applying a serum under your lotion.
It’s all in the balm. Many lip balms contain ingredients such as petroleum jelly, which creates an artificial layer on your lips. Through lipids, this layer fools your skin into thinking it no longer needs to produce the moisture needed. Also, creative flavors, perfumes, and colors can also dry out skin. Instead, look for natural products that contain shea butter or natural oils. For beautifully moisturized lips, first, exfoliate your lips with a toothbrush. Then, apply the natural lip balm to your lips.
Dry, cold climates wear on EVERY skin type. Oily skin is no exception. Without the proper added protection through a gel-cream or lotion, even oily skin gets exposed to pollution and other harmful elements.
